Mwosi Swenson, president and ceo
[ Mwosi ]Mwosi has worked in direct response fundraising for the past 15 years. She began her career at Mal Warwick Associates, where she managed the direct mail and telemarketing programs for some of the nation’s most respected environmental, advocacy and political organizations including the Union of Concerned Scientists, PETA and Ocean Conservancy, to name a few. Mwosi’s work in building long-lasting relationships with individual donors through effective direct marketing techniques and precise list segmentation has motivated hundreds of thousands of people to give millions of dollars to worthy causes nationally and around the world.

As the managing director for the firm, Mwosi oversees all of the work with our clients. She provides strategic guidance on integrating fundraising efforts across direct mail, online, and telemarketing channels.
Scott Crowningshield, web monger
[ Scott ]Scott’s professional experience includes web design, programming and filmmaking, and he has worked to raise awareness (and funds) for many social, environmental and non-profit initiatives. He helped tell the story of one man’s journey with ALS in the Tribeca award winning documentary TransFatty Lives for the The Patrick O’Brien Foundation, and documented the bizarre life and travels (and socio-economic implications) of your average t-shirt for Project Repat.
Stephanie Drahan, account executive
[ Stephanie ] Stephanie Drahan, Account Executive, has 10 years of experience working at the intersection of communications and policy across advocacy nonprofit organizations, membership associations, and the public sector. Prior to working with Mal Warwick | Donordigital, Stephanie oversaw the online communications channels as the Senior New Media Manager at the League of Women Voters. In her free time, Stephanie volunteers with and raises money for the DC Abortion Fund. Stephanie has a B.A. in Women’s Studies from Skidmore College and a Graduate Certificate from the University of Massachusetts Boston in Women in Politics and Public Policy.
Katie Dunne, account executive
[ Katie ] Katie Dunne, Account Executive, is a fundraising professional with experience that spans online and offline channels including direct mail, telemarketing, face-to-face, email and online. Before joining Mal Warwick | Donordigital, Katie was part of development teams with Cancer Research UK in London and Save the Children in Melbourne, Australia. She has also spent time in the field with All Hands Volunteers leading disaster relief teams in the Philippines and Nepal.

Katie graduated from Trinity College, Ireland with a B.A. in Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology.
Nick Garcia, senior account executive
[ Nick ]Nick Garcia, Senior Account Executive, has worked in nonprofit fundraising for over eight years, with experience ranging from direct response to event planning and data management. He has coordinated several successful fundraising campaigns for AmeriCares, Be The Match, and many more.

An east Bay Area native, Nick graduated with a degree in Business Management from San Francisco State University. Working from our Berkeley office, he currently resides in Alameda and spends his time outside of the office playing with his son and daughter and taking photos.
Jessica Getty, account executive
[ Jessica ]Jessica Getty is a consultant with over 6 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and marketing. Prior to her work with Donordigital, she served as the Social Media and Community Fundraising Manger at PETA and a Senior Consultant at M+R. Jessica specializes in email marketing, Google AdWords, social media ads, and brand management.

In her spare time, Jessica reads a whole lot of comics, hangs out with her cat Brody, and binge-watches reality TV. She is currently learning how to play the bass and is looking to start a Go-Go’s tribute band called the So-So’s. Any takers?
Jack Hilson, account executive
[ Jack ] Jack has over 5 years of experience in non-profit and political campaign based digital consulting. They specialize in email marketing, Google search ads, Facebook ads, and social media management. Prior to working with Donordigital, Jack was the Digital Production Director at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee. They’ve also done other consulting work with M+R and The Campaign Workshop.

In their spare time, Jack collects vinyl, reads a bunch of comics, hikes in the redwoods, and hangs out with their cat Peanut Butter.
Jesse Kelsey, senior web developer
[ Jesse ]Jesse’s web development experience spans the for- and nonprofit sectors, including work in e-commerce, lead generation, digital signage, and community economic development. He remembers building his first web page when AOL was sending blue cd-roms to every household in the U.S., before the term “broadband” was a twinkle in our eyes.

Jesse is a graduate from The University of Iowa with a degree in Cinema, and holds a Nonprofit Management certificate from California State University, East Bay. He is fond of running and fonder of his two sons, Finn and Liam.
Wendy Marinaccio Husman, account director
[ Wendy ]Wendy Marinaccio Husman is a consultant with more than 10 years of experience in development. Prior to her work with Donordigital, she served as the Director of Development at Alonzo King LINES Ballet and the Membership Director at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy; she also spent a year in Shanghai consulting on email campaigns, database setup and direct mail.

Wendy currently serves as the VP of Membership for the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Golden Gate Chapter. As a volunteer, she has led the small modern dance organization Double Vision as Managing Director, served as co-chair of the LINES Ballet Extensions young professionals auxiliary, and served on the boards of El Gato Theater Company and the Stanford University Marching Band.

In her spare time Wendy is a drummer, hiker, rock climber, yogi, and knitter. She is currently learning Mandarin.
Amanda MacCullough, senior account executive
[ Amanda ]Amanda MacCullough is a fundraising professional with more than 6 years of experience in development, ranging from grant writing, special events, Board campaigns, and direct response. In addition to her work with Donordigital, she has worked with the National Sleep Foundation, Quota International, Breastcancer.org and Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.

Her first blog post on an intensive multi-channel campaign was re-posted by the Integrated Marketing Advisory Board. A member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals, Amanda also enjoys running, traveling, baking, and is currently learning how to garden.
Dell Milton, digital designer
[ Dell ] Dell Milton, Digital Designer, has years of passion and experience designing email messages, landing pages, online ads and lead generation devices. He previously spent 15 years working in web design for agencies serving companies including Home Depot, ADT Home Security, Zumba Fitness and more. Dell is a San Francisco Bay Area native and received his BFA in Art and Design from San Francisco State University.
Eric Overman, vice president for digital strategy and integrated services
[ Eric ]With over 15 years of direct response experience, Eric uses his extensive knowledge to help craft the best suite of digital and integrated strategies to meet client needs. He began his nonprofit career with Operation Smile. As Director of Online & Interactive, his efforts at integrated and innovative digital marketing led to Eric being honored as the American Marketing Association’s 2009 Nonprofit Marketer of the Year, as well as contributed to Operation Smile being honored as DMA Nonprofit of the Year in 2008.

Eric received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, and holds a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary, Mason School of Business. He has spoken at several industry events including AFP, AMA, DMA and NTEN.
Brett Gerstein, director of search marketing
[ Brett ]Brett works with Donordigital clients to optimize their web initiatives through search engine optimization and online paid advertising. Brett has over twelve years of experience providing online marketing advice to NGOs, Members of Congress, and for-profits. He has worked at Beaconfire Consulting, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and The New Israel Fund. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from SUNY Albany and earned a Masters in International Relations from American University.

He lives in Washington, DC and enjoys playing tennis, biking, and rooting for the Washington Nationals.
Michael Stein, senior account executive
[ Michael ]Michael Stein is a veteran nonprofit technology strategist and writer who has worked for the past twenty years at the intersection of marketing and fundraising. His key areas of expertise include online fundraising, email messaging, email list growth, blogging, online content curation, and multi-channel messaging. He has provided strategic counsel to numerous organizations during his professional career including: The William J. Clinton Foundation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, United Nations Food Program, The James Irvine Foundation, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Ploughshares Fund, Habitat for Humanity International, and the ACLU of Northern California.

With Nick Allen and Mal Warwick, Michael wrote the groundbreaking 1997 book “Fundraising on the Internet: Recruiting and Renewing Donors Online.” His opinion and analysis have been featured in numerous media, including The New York Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, National Public Radio, and Wired News. When he is not working, Michael serves on the Board of Directors of the One World Futbol Foundation and the East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club. Michael is an avid ocean kayaker, grew up in France and England, and resides in Orinda, California with his wife and two children.
Donordigital helps nonprofit organizations, campaigns, and socially responsible businesses use the Internet for fundraising, advocacy, advertising, and marketing. We provide strategy and implementation to enable organizations to use e-mail, the Web, Facebook, mobile, and other communications to build their constituencies and change the world.

Founded in 1999, Donordigital has raised tens of millions of dollars and recruited millions of new, mostly younger, constituents for our clients. While we focus on online fundraising and marketing, our staff has deep experience in more traditional direct marketing and organizing techniques. Our programs seek to integrate online communications with mail, phone, face-to-face and canvassing, campaigning, house parties, and online and offline events.

Donordigital has built and developed large-scale integrated online fundraising programs at national organizations including The Humane Society of the United States, Habitat for Humanity International, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Amnesty International USA, the NAACP, Share Our Strength, and American Jewish World Service. We have also worked for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, National Public Radio, the Smithsonian Institution’s new National Museum for African American History and Culture, PETA and many other large national organizations with complex multichannel direct response programs.

In addition to viral campaigns involving petitions, photo galleries and many other techniques, we have used paid list acquisition, via sites such as Change.org, Care2, chaperoned emails with Web publishers such as Alternet or Sojourners, and cost-per-lead agencies such as Pontiflex. We carefully track the cost of acquiring an opt-in advocate and converting him or her into a donor, so we know which sources merit additional investment.

Donordigital is an expert with Convio, Blackbaud Sphere (Kintera), and Salsa, and has managed many full-service clients who have millions of records in these systems. In addition to using Convio for advocacy and fundraising emails, we have done extensive testing to optimize donation and advocacy pages in Convio and figured out many “work-arounds” to make the tools work better. Current Convio clients include CARE, AmeriCares, Catholic Relief Services, Share Our Strength, and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Donordigital works closely with Target Analytics to produce the donorCentrics™ Collaborative Benchmarking Report on Internet Giving, which provides detailed reporting for a wide range of participants including the Sierra Club, Environmental Defense Fund, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, The Humane Society of the United States and about two dozen other major national organizations, many of which do advocacy along with fundraising. Feeding America recently joined the program.

In 2008, Donordigital was acquired by Mal Warwick Associates, which had incubated Donordigital in the late 1990s. The merger has increased our abilities to provide truly integrated fundraising using multiple channels—online, direct mail, telemarketing and mobile—to increase donor response and retention.
